Well, folks, this month sees What Sallamah Didn't Know turn one year old.
Coincidentally, it is also the birthday of my daughter, Sarah, who has yet to appreciate the book beyond its colours and its bite-ability. (She's teething now and everything that's not pinned down is a teething ring.)
Looking back, I feel I could have and should have done more with the book. Now that things have finally settled down at home, it’s definitely time to wipe the dust off my book-writing notebook.
Corny as that may sound, I find that having a place to gather my scattered thoughts together before they disappear into nothingness is extremely useful. And my friends can attest to how easily I get distracted by, well, life.
My notebook functions as a checklist for me to see if I’ve been on track with what I’ve wanted to do and where I want to go.
So to start the birthday celebrations off, I’ll be conducting 2 reading and sharing sessions at children’s reading clubs.
Here are the details:
Tuesday, 9 December 2008, 2.30 – 4pm at the Woodlands Regional Library
Thursday, 11 December 2008, 2.30 – 4pm at the Tampines Regional Library
More details soon.
By the way, I’ve been trying to upload our photographs from our visit to the Istana but have been having problems with my scanner. Will try again soon.
